Key Largo December 10, 1, 2011

The pictures on this page were shot during 6 dives out of Key Largo during early December with Horizon Dvers. There were 2 dives on the Duane, one dive on the Benwood wreck, one on French Reef (sand bottom cave) and two on Molasses reef (ball on the wall and winch hole) The duane dives were great. Ship sits upright in 120 feet of water. Deck at 105 ft. A tower and the bridge both rise to about 60 fsw. Viz was 90 ft plus. You could see a long ways. No current below 20 fsw. Could see big nurse sharks and rays out on the sand.

Ball on the wall is on the outer part of the Molasses reef where it is dropping off. Started at 45 fsw. Going one way it drops off, other it climbs. An open area with lots of sponges. Other sites were typical Keys reefs.

The small particles are actually a school of tiny shrimp or fish larva. Saw a lot of them around. Clear what they are on the large original of picture.

This large grouper was hunting with a big green Moray. Was fun to watch them working side by side. If the ran from the grouper into a rock, the Moray got them. If the Moray flushed them, the grouper got them. Was so much fun to watch I forgot to film it.
